The Truth About Aggregators
The word “aggregate” means to combine. (from http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/aggregate )
An RSS Aggregator is a site which groups subscriptions all into one. Say if you wanted to look at CNN, yahoo, the weather, and entertainment news, but didn’t want to go to four different sites. You can use an RSS Aggregator to group all of these together. Compare yourself to someone that doesn’t use an aggregator. You will have more time to spare if you use an aggregator than someone who doesn’t.
The most popular Aggregators are Netvibes, Bloglines, and Google Reader.

Almost any website can be subscribed to. Just enter the web address in the subscribe bar, or you can look for the icons – like these:

Some directories you can use Syndic8, BlogStreet’s RSS Directory, or RDF-Ticker to find feeds that suit your needs. Hope you learned something today! Try them out and have fun!
Blog Post #1
So I reviewed the website Picnik, which includes a photo editing program. It includes many different tools to edit with including different effects like tones and colors as well as editing software and touch-up tools. You can also add in text and shapes to enhance the photo, but I feel they take away from it. They look fake and silly with just about any photo as well. Although, I was impressed by how easy it was to use the program. This is probably the best feature of the program.
I would like them to add the feature to change specific parts of the photo and to add in a color picker. These features may be in the paid version, for only $25.00, but they aren’t in the free version.
PC Magazine gave Picnik the honor of site of the week in December 2007, and the Kansas City Star gave it a thumbs up.

Another photo editor I would recommend would be Adobe Photoshop CS3. It has all these features and more and the approximate cost is $650.00. It is used professionally by photo editors and is widely respected in the design world.

This is an image that I made in Picnik. Compared to the original, which was very colorful, this is a major change. I used a sepia tone filter and I added in the white dots to make it look old.

Overall, I would give this program a mixed review. I liked how easy it was to use, but I feel that it should have had more features to get a really good review. But in the end, I would give it thumbs up.
Other blogs
I found two blogs:
One was called Rob’s Megaphone and contained a help wanted ad for cab drivers and it requested a criminal record. The other one was called Political Ticker and it featured opinions about the Obama and Clinton campaigns. The most recent post was on the gas tax and it had a screenshot of a new tv ad. Overall, these blogs are very different in layout and content and they show how different the blogs can be. You should visit them whenever you can!
